- Ecohydraulics: The mission of the Ecohydraulics Center of Excellence is the pursuit of research, to provide education at all levels, and provide an independent scientific forum for furthering the understanding and simulation of fundamental linkages between physical processes, management actions and ecological responses for the preservation, restoration and sustainable management of aquatic resources. This mission is in concert with the University of Idaho's Strategic Plan Goals 2 and 3.
- Bio-energy: The Energy Center of Excellence pursues applied and fundamental research to develop solutions for energy production problems. Information and technology developments are disseminated through publications, presentations, teaching, and workshops.
- Lean Six Sigma Laboratory: The Lean Six Sigma Laboratory provides research, academic and continuing education, and technical expertise to support industry in the areas of lean and six sigma. Activities focus on methods for lean, designed experiments, product definition, and product design in ways that reduce cost, decrease lead-time, improve quality, and eliminate waste. Degrees are offered in engineering management and mechanical engineering. This mission is in concert with the University of Idaho's Strategic Goals 2 and 3.
